State-of-the-Art Laser Surgery Is Here! Do You Know the Benefits?
Almost all of our surgeries are performed using a high-tech CO2 laser instead of a scalpel, resulting in numerous benefits for your pet:
- Less bleeding
- Ultra-precise, clean incisions that protect healthy tissue
- Minimal swelling and less post-surgery pain
- Shorter time under anesthesia
- Significantly lower risk of post-operative infections
High-Power 45-Watt Surgical Laser
Our upgraded High-Power 45-Watt Surgical Laser allows for faster cutting, shorter anesthesia time, less tissue trauma, less pain for our cats and dogs, and a quicker recovery.
The laser is so precise that it can selectively remove only a few tissue cells at a time. At the same time, it is powerful enough to de-bulk entire tumors. It can be used to make unique bloodless laser incisions, as well as remove unhealthy tissue without the excessive blood loss that can occur with conventional scalpel surgery.
Minimized Bleeding
As it cuts, the laser seals small blood vessels. Reduced bleeding enables procedures that may not be practical or possible with a scalpel, such as treating tumors and lesions inside the throat, nose, and lips, certain types of eye surgery, and nasal hyperkeratosis.
Better visualization of the surgical site allows us to cut more precisely while avoiding unnecessary trauma to healthy surrounding tissues. In addition, some procedures may not require sutures.
Excellent Visibility
Excellent visibility provides another major advantage of CO2 laser surgery. It allows us to complete procedures more quickly. Shorter procedures can reduce anesthesia time and associated anesthesia risks. Better visibility also helps provide better cosmetic results.
Less Pain
The CO2 laser beam seals nerve endings and lymphatic vessels, resulting in less post-operative swelling and pain. This can provide your pet with a more comfortable recovery.
Reduced Risk of Infection
The sanitizing effect is one of the unique features of the CO2 laser beam. It destroys bacteria in its path. CO2 laser surgery is also performed in a non-contact mode, meaning the laser tip does not touch the target tissue during surgery, helping to minimize the risk of infection.
Faster Recovery
Reduced risk of infection, less bleeding, less pain and swelling, and less time under anesthesia can all contribute to a faster recovery. Pets may be able to walk, eat, drink, and play sooner than after conventional scalpel surgery.
